Building Rachel Carson

American biologist and zoologist Rachel Carson (1907-1964) is known for her in-depth research and writings on ocean life and environmental protection. She began her career as a biologist before devoting herself fully to writing. Her books – on life under the sea and environmental protection – became best-sellers, and her book “Silent Spring” (1962) triggered a reversal in national pesticide policy. It is credited with helping to launch the environmental movement worldwide.
