The transfer of micro propagation technology– a success story Between CRA-W and Nunhems (Bayer)

December 2013 - CRA-W and its Life Sciences department successfully developed and transferred a complete micro propagation technology to Nunhems, the vegetable seeds business of Bayer Crop Science.. A modern micro propagation technology for the large-scale production of plants is a key success factor in hybrid breeding programs. The transfer marks the successful end of a three-year collaboration project between CRA-W and Nunhems that included the development of protocols, the transfer of the technology and training by CRA-W. Dr Geerts Pascal, Research manager of CRA-W says ‘We are very proud to deliver a fully operational micro propagation system, including the training, after three years of close cooperation with Nunhems’. Based on this success we are exploring further cooperation together. .Details of the contract were not disclosed.
