Abstract | Further surveys of populations of Haplodiplosis equestris (Wagn.) in Belgium [cf. RAE/A 61, 1951] were carried out in 1970-71 in the main wheat-growing areas in the south of the country. In 1970, in only 10 of the 116 fields surveyed were there more than 5 galls/stem, which is considered the economic threshold; in the remainder, the average was 1.7 galls/stem. In 1971, the level of 5 galls/stem was found in only one field, the average for the other 154 fields surveyed being 0.7/stem. It is concluded that control measures would not be justified except in a limited number of fields. |
