Dr. Marie-Caroline Lecrenier is Project Manager at the Knowledge and Valorization of Agricultural Products Department of the Walloon Agricultural Research Centre (CRA-W, Gembloux - Belgium).
She graduated as a Doctor in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Liège in 2004. Following graduation, she practiced in the field of equine and bovine reproduction. After 8 years of veterinary practice, she started to work in 2012 at the CRA-W, in the Quality and authentication of agricultural products Unit (U12), for the European reference laboratory for animal proteins in feedingstuffs (EURL-AP).
Her main mission is the development of complementary analytical methods in general and mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) based proteomics in particular, for the detection and identification of prohibited feed materials of animal origin in feed. In May 2019, she completed her PhD thesis in Veterinary sciences entitled "Development of complementary methods for the detection of animal by-products in feedingstuffs".
