Abstract Studies have been carried out since 1985 in Belgium to compare FGR [fruit genetic resources] apple cultivars with triploid and diploid cultivars. Data are presented on the number of seeds/cultivar, cytometry, and pollen quality of 15 cultivars, as well as the potential of different FGR cultivars as cross pollinators for Golden Delicious, Jonagold, Gala and Elstar.
