The CRA-W again at the Comprehensive Chemometrics

The reference book for Chemometrics.

The quality and authentication of products Unit of the CRA-W has contributed to the second edition of the Comprehensive Chemometrics Chemical and Biochemical Data Analysis book (Steven Brown, Roma Tauler & Beata Walczak eds. Elsevier ISBN: 9780444641656) . This book is designed to serve as the first point of reference on the subject and presents an integrated summary of the present state of chemical and biochemical data analysis and manipulation. The book covers all major areas ranging from statistics to data acquisition, analysis, and applications. It is major reference work providing broad-ranging, validated summaries of the major topics in chemometrics—with chapter introductions and advanced reviews for each area. The level of material is appropriate for graduate students as well as active researchers seeking a reference on obtaining and analyzing scientific data.

The CRA-W has contributed with a chapter untitled Chemometrics in NIR Hyperspectral Imaging Theory and applications in the agricultural crops and products sector. This chapter shows its expertise, developed since 2001, and the overall aim is to integrate chemometrics and data processing for the study of multispectral and hyperspectral imaging. The first part of this chapter is dedicated to explore the theory and instrumentation as well as the different steps in order to acquire images and to analyse them using chemometric tools. The second one shows the performance and discrimination power of several unsupervised and supervised chemometric algorithms applied on NIR hyperspectral data.
