| Abstract | Previously, it had been noted that captures of cereal aphids in the Gembloux suction trap were only a poor reflection of the importance of their populations in the field. Catches of Metopolophium dirhodum, Sitobion avenae and Rhopalosiphum padi in suction traps at Arras, Gembloux, Colmar, Libramont and Reims, France, were compared. It is concluded that detailed studies on the influence of abiotic factors are needed to make data from traps more representative of field populations. |
